Position:            Bridge Inspection Project Manager - QA/QC

Role Summary:

Steere is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with a minimum of10 years of NBIS bridge inspection experience to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control services. The successful candidate will have a Professional Engineer’s license in RI, CT, or MA, and shall have the leadership and organizational skills necessary to work with a team of engineers on a busy and time sensitive schedule. This role will require strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively within a team environment while ensuring the company’s deliverables meet the established quality standards of our clients. Additionally, the role will blend technical expertise with project management to a level commensurate to the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications, and motivation. This position will work closely with our other Bridge Inspection Project Manager who is responsible for all field operations and inspection scheduling.

Typical Duties:

  • Review inspection reports in accordance with various state requirements.

  • Coordination and communication with clients, sub-consultants, and team members.

  • Ensure all the QA/QC requirements are met and perform quality review of work products.

  • Management of inspection report preparation, budget and schedule.

  • Work in accordance with strict deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years of NBIS bridge inspection experience.

  • Professional Engineer’s license in RI, MA, or CT, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited university.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Completed NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges (required), NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges (preferred), NHI Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures (preferred)
